Once I had explained what they were and what they were used for Besides being extremely visual. They said they had no problems with me using them in public places, as for the laws in other countries you will have to ask the relevant authorities. The only advice I can give, is be adamant that they are not Nunchaku. There are big differences in Nunchaku style and the way they are used.
